VACANCIES FOR OVERSEAS SERVICE

Positions vacant

Village Mission Clinic Tonga seeks a General Practitioner from early January 2011 for a minimum of 6 months but 1-2 years is preferred for continuity of care and better understanding of the situation.    This clinic, established in 1984 aims to provide high quality medical care at as low a cost as possible and in a Christian setting, i.e. seeking to serve holistically and meet spiritual needs from a Christian perspective whenever appropriate.  It works in partnership with the Village Mission Pharmacy in Nuku’alofa. The clinic provides accommodation and a basic  living allowance but at present cannot afford air fares.  Suit a GP with younger family or more established GPs – anyone who seeks the challenge and joy of working in an area where good primary medical care is sorely needed.

The clinic is a "Mission" -i.e. it is not a profit-making business. We are particularly looking for a doctor who will uphold the Christian witness of the clinic. For full details contact: Dr Glennis Mafi,  glennis.m@slingshot.co.nz   Ph 64 9 4139749 or 64 21 023 93713, Fax 64 9 4139742
